  • 09:30 AM Meeting Point City Gate, Valletta
Just outside the main entrance of Valletta, at the beginning of the bridge that traverses the dry moat. We can also meet at any other place that is more convenient for you. Click below and send me a message.
  • 10:00 AM Dingli Cliffs
We board our transport and head to to Dingli to enjoy Malta’s highest point with sweeping views of the open sea and countryside. At about 250 meters above sea level, these are Malta’s highest cliffs. From here, you can admire spectacular views over the Mediterranean. The landscape is peaceful, with terraced fields and little chapels, giving a taste of rural Malta. On the way you will hear about Malta’s colourful history, our language, culture and traditions.
  • 10:30 AM Blue Grotto
Scenic stop overlooking the famous sea caverns. Optional: short boat trip (weather permitting, ~25 min) – €10 per person. One of Malta’s most photographed natural landmarks. The limestone cliffs and sea caves reflect the sunlight, making the water glow with intense shades of blue and turquoise. Weather permitting we can do an optional 20-minute boat ride to see the grotto up close. Best visited in the morning when the light is at its most dramatic.
  • 11:50 AM Rabat
Rabat, Malta’s “suburb” of Mdina, is closely linked with the story of St. Paul, who was shipwrecked on the island in AD 60. The catacombs are an extensive underground burial complex used from Roman times into the early Christian period. With their rock-cut tombs and circular communal tables for funeral banquets, they illustrate the transition from pagan to Christian burial customs.
  • 12:50 PM Mdina
Explore the Silent City: Cathedral Square, bastions, and medieval alleys.Known as the “Silent City”, Mdina was Malta’s capital for centuries. Its narrow medieval streets, palaces, and bastions create an atmosphere that has hardly changed in 1,000 years. Highlights include Cathedral Square, the bastion views stretching across the island, and the elegant facades of noble residences. The silence and timelessness make Mdina one of Malta’s most enchanting stops.
  • 01:30 PM Fontanella Tea Garden
Relaxed meal with panoramic views over Malta. Famous for tasty dishes with a Maltese flavour and its famous cakes. Situated on the bastions, Fontanella Tea Garden is famous for its panoramic views over Malta and beyond to Gozo on a clear day. Their menu includes light dishes, but the highlight is their homemade cakes — especially the legendary chocolate cake. A relaxed and scenic setting for a lunch or coffee break (one may opt for either or both).
  • 03:30 PM Mosta Dome
Admire the third-largest unsupported dome in the world and hear the WWII “miracle bomb” story. Formally the Rotunda of the Assumption, this church has one of the largest unsupported domes in the world. During WWII, a 500kg bomb pierced the dome during Mass but miraculously failed to explode — a story that has become part of Maltese collective memory. The interior is beautifully decorated, and visitors are often astonished by the scale of the dome. (Admission €3 per person)
  • Ending Point  At the starting meeting point
