09:30 Meeting Point City Gate, Valletta
– Just outside the main entrance of Valletta, at the beginning of the bridge that traverses the dry moat.
10:00 Blue Grotto
Scenic stop overlooking the famous sea caverns. Optional: short boat trip (weather permitting, ~25 min) – €10 per person.
One of Malta’s most photographed natural landmarks. The limestone cliffs and sea caves reflect the sunlight, making the water glow with intense shades of blue and turquoise. Weather permitting we can do an optional 20-minute boat ride to see the grotto up close. Best visited in the morning when the light is at its most dramatic.
11:00 Mdina – The Silent City
Explore the Silent City: Cathedral Square, bastions, and medieval alleys. Known as the “Silent City”, Mdina was Malta’s capital for centuries. Its narrow medieval streets, palaces, and bastions create an atmosphere that has hardly changed in 1,000 years. Highlights include Cathedral Square, the bastion views stretching across the island, and the elegant facades of noble residences. The silence and timelessness make Mdina one of Malta’s most enchanting stops.
